You’re in for a surprise if you haven’t visited Renton in a while. New businesses, more community events and improved streetscapes make Renton your new must-see destination.

1. Visit new shops and events

SipStop, Rain City Market and Macadons are three new places that opened their doors in recent months. This summer the monthly Renton Night Market drew after-hours shoppers and encouraged people to linger after the farmers market closed. At Wine Walk events in June and September, hundreds of people sampled dozens of locally made beverages.

The momentum continues as the Renton Downtown Partnership and its partners plan for the annual Halloween scavenger hunt. Then comes Small Business Saturday and Santa House to kick off the holiday season.

2. Support local businesses with a prepaid gift card

Speaking of holidays … shopping is now easier with the new Downtown Renton Community Gift Card. From salons to restaurants, gift shops to theaters, the prepaid card can be used at 80 businesses downtown. The card makes a wonderful gift and is a great way to support local businesses before and after special events.

3. Linger longer with downtown’s new sidewalks, artwork

The city recently completed construction projects on streets and sidewalks in Downtown Renton. Hanging flower baskets, new murals and more painted fire hydrants add color and interest throughout the city.

4. Apply for funds to support your event

Have an event that would be a good fit for Renton? Looking to boost an existing event in town? Consider applying for funds through the city’s Lodging Tax Grant Program. Public and nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for funds to support events in 2023. Applications are due October 21, 2022.
