Boeing rolls out a new 737

Monday, February 5th was another shared milestone between the city and The Boeing Company; the rollout of the 737 MAX 7 from their Renton factory. We’re proud that Renton is the home of the Boeing 737, the bestselling airliner in the world. I enjoy bragging that every 737 flying today entered the city as a green fuselage on the back of a railcar and left via a maiden flight from Renton Municipal Airport. Boeing’s Renton factory is the most efficient in the world, producing 47 airplanes a month in 2017 and targeting 52 a month this year. Boeing is an integral part of the Renton community – and not just because they’re our largest employer and our history stretches over 75 years. They’re an enthusiastic supporter of many of our civic projects and for that we are extremely grateful.
