City of Renton accepting applications for 2022 Tourism Promotion Grants

Deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021

RENTON, WA ­– Organizations with programs or activities that promote tourism in Renton can now apply for Lodging Tax Grants for 2022.

Eligible events are not limited to within the Renton city limits. However, events must show measurable drive-in tourism within the city limits. Organizations may apply for multiple events.

The grant application is online. Applications are due by due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021.

Finalists will present their requests to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee on Nov. 10 via Zoom. The committee will make its final recommendations to Renton City Council in December.

The grants are funded by Washington state’s Hotel-Motel Tax, which is collected on all in-city lodging stays of less than 30 days.
